crazy 8 wreath

I've finally learned.
I'm starting on Christmas decor projects now instead of in December.
(Ladies and gentlemen, she can be taught!!)

I've had this honey bun of Crazy 8 hanging around for a while.

crazy8wreath1

almost sold it in my Etsy shop.  Almost.  It's discontinued, and would probably have been snapped up by some poor quilter who ran out of fabric for his/her project.

But it matches the table runner for my front table, so I decided to make it into something.  (No pic of the table runner today; it's in the attic with the rest of the Christmas stuff.)

I've always wanted to make this adorable wreath tutorial from Moda Bake Shop.
It's no-sew, it's fast, it's totally adorable.  Instant gratification!!
I happened to have a 14" wire frame lying around.  Who doesn't? ;)

The project involved a lot of tying.
And a lot of lint.
And two episodes of Friends, two Seinfelds, and one Big Bang Theory.

But look how pretty!
And so painless.

Do I have to put it in the attic?  Can't I just leave it out for a couple of months?
I love all of the fraying selvage-y goodness.

we now return to our regularly scheduled blog entry

Well, I took a little blogging break.  Like a couple of months.  I had some stuff to do.
Thanksgiving, check!
Christmas, check!

(Like those are small things.)

Somewhere in there I managed to fill about 50 custom orders.  I may have lost my mind temporarily.

tissue covers.

kindle covers.

camera strap covers.

baby head covers.

apparently, I like to cover things.

A few cheesy Christmas song covers.  Duets with my bro.  Good times, y'all.  My piano skills are definitely not what they once were, but we had fun.
It's late January now, and I've had a nice little break.  Ready to tackle blogging again.  So...what better way to start than with a  giveaway?  Details coming in the next post!!
It's good to be back!

ta-da!

Yay!  I've had a lot of fun with this!

Our family tradition includes an Advent calendar, and I've had trouble finding one I really like. My last one was cute, but the pockets were so small that you couldn't put anything more than a mint in each one.  And since I have a kid that's allergic to food coloring, we don't do a lot of candy.

And these flag banners (I hear some people call them buntings) are everywhere this year...and soooooo cute...and this Moda Fruitcake fabric matches my house so well...you can see how this developed.

The family likes it so much that even though I just put up the greenery and lights to take the pictures, they want me to leave it up.

Who am I to argue with that? ;)

Pattern is now for sale in the shop.
